Hello,
I am a responsible, empathic and capable professional with a love and respect for all animals; domesticated, working and wild. I grew up with and have cared for many pets, my best friend is a labdood "Tilly" (who does not accompany me sitting). I am currently looking to spend time in the Golden Horseshoe to Ottawa area. I would consider further destinations, but would require travel reimbursement. I am up to date on all vaccinations, do not smoke or drink, work remotely, and am very capable with home maintenance if needed.
I live in the Gananoque area, drive my own car, so accessing urban and rural locations is not an issue although I do require parking for the duration of my stay.

I am more than happy to review your needs and my suitability. My schedule booms quickly last minute with sitting opportunities, work engagements, and home life activities so booking in advance is critical for me, although because of the nature of my work schedule, may be able to help out in urgent or last minute situations. I can also consider regular, reoccurring opportunities, Infact much of my sitting experience is for repeat clients. I truly believe in the benefits of your pet living in the safety and comfort of their own home as opposed to the anxiety and stress of a boarding kennel. If you have multiple pets this just makes common sense.
Pending our schedules and location, I suggest we start with a call, and then meet face to face for an introductory meeting, getting an idea of fit, suitability as well as acclimation with your furry/fluffy/feathered or slimy...before we make any finaldecision. My schedule is not dictated by holiday/school/ calendars and as such, I am typically available to sit during popular 'holiday' or 'family vacation' times.

A couple of things for my stay that you should note:
-Clearly articulated and agreed upon schedule or arenda of expectations (in writing so I can refer to the list when you are away and dont forget about anything). Do's/ Dont's...things, items, rooms or places you do not want me to touch (I completly respect your privacy). And appropriate upkeep for your home and activities for your pet.
-If any expenses will be incurred during your 'away' please advise in advance and pay for the services ahead of time, or leave cash. (Pet food, activities, appointments etc)
-I'll need parking as I'm driving from Thousand Island area Ontario. (more of a concern if you live in a condo and dont have underground, street, driveway or concierge parking). I ask the client to cover this cost if additional permits are required.
-due to the distance I travel, arriving before noon on the start day is not always possible. Additionally I need to leave by noon on the last day of the sit.
-I will need to access wifi as it is essential for my daily work.
-It is a good idea if you have a spare key with a neighbor etc...just in case you have a self locking door and I leave the key inside.
-if you use nanny cams or security systems. Please indicate ahead of time and have instructions of how to turn off or operate as I may need to pre-install apps on my phone/ reset/ unarm/ call security service etc. It wouldnt be the first time ive tripped an alarm system by accident. For privacy reasons, i prefer the interior devices can be turned off for the duration of the sit.
-if you would like daily updates, photos or check-ins, just let me know the frequency. This is obviously more comforting on longer duration trips or pets with health concerns. I'm happy to stay in touch regularly or not disturb you on vacation, just make sure to note with me or, if you just want to get away without being bothered.
-if your pet has special considerations while in public (past aggressive behaviour with other dogs or people), eating street food, chasing squirrels or cars, fear of thunderstorms etc.
-ability to travel by car should we want to take a road trip to a new park or go for a longer hike out of the city.
-if off-leash public parks are desirable.
-If water/beach environments are suitable (in the height of the summer, can your pet get wet to keep cool).
-If your pet requires grooming (bathing, dental, or nail/claw care puppy care etc especially if Im at risk of being bitten or scratched)
-If your pet has up to date shots or has any medical conditions.
-Any allergies, medical or health concerns including limitations with food, treats or medicines.
-Length of time your pet can stay alone or unattended, as i will have to leave the house periodically.
-Pet friends in the neighbourhood for park meet-ups or group walks.
-Non pet related requirements during the stay (yardwork or house work required). I'm happy to help out while I stay.
-Use of Foods consumables, perishables or incidentals in your home, and things not to touch or areas of your home not to enter (inside/outside) I can and will fully respect your needs and wishes.
-Emergency contacts, vet info...the basic ' just-in-case' info as outlined in the contract info provided by 'Housesitters'.
-My time has become quite tight and I have been booking multi week/monthly periods into 2025, so confirming sooner is better. I have several clients in talks with, but the first to confirm by this website, will secure my time. Confirmation is key, not tentative plans or length of time we've been communicating, ans it is possible that I'm in conversation with multiple clients at the same time. Also note that plans do change and openings do become available in my schedule.
-I am part of multiple sitting organizations (not just housesitters), so want to stress the importance of confirming well in advance.
