Hello!
I am a very respectful house guest! Canadian born, with parents from England and Italy. I grew up in Toronto, have driven across Canada 5 times, and have also lived internationally.
I have a degree in psychology and sociology from McMaster University and I am a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, thus I am bound both morally and ethically to professionalism and candidness. I also prepare people for English Language exams, so all my work is done on-line. I am trusted to provide professional advice and careful guidance.
This enables me to travel and is why am interested in house (home) sitting. I love all animals, and I have had dogs, cats, fish, birds and cute rodents. I was a medical responder instructor for the Canadian Red Cross for many years, so if your fur baby needs extra help with medication, or encounters an emergency, that is no problem.
I usually only go out for a couple of hours a day to walk, so if you have a dog and other animal which requires a walk, I would be happy to accommodate over and above the minimum.
I am good about keeping a diary for your home and pet, and updates can be made via any social media or Google Docs, as you prefer.
I do not drink (occasionally a glass of wine) and I do not smoke. I am quiet, usually with light music in the background and I am happy to talk to the plants or play with and cuddle the pet babies.

This was Rods third stay with his furry “niece and nephew”. Great communication and it feels wonderful knowing he’s with our animals. Stella (Chihuahua) is sick and Rod has taken wonderful care of her and has kept us informed on an ongoing basis! We highly recommend this man! He’s great!
Rod feels like one of the family. We have a dog with special needs (very anxious and has trouble eating) and two others who each have their special needs. They were so comfortable with Rod, that we were able to go on our vacation and not worry. When we came back, the house was in pristine shape, and the dogs looked happy and content. I highly recommend Rod, who is friendly, honest, and dependable, to look after your house and your fur friends.
This was a 2nd time to have Rod look after our 2 cats and what a joy he was to have in our home. He was a great communicator and gave our cays lots of love and attention. He went above and beyond as a pet sitter and looked after our home as if it was his own. He even made us a delicious meal on our return home. Rod was amazing. My cats bonded with him and were happy and healthy. He went above and beyond to clean up a huge and disastrous mess left by the previous house sitter. He took it upon himself to use specializes cleaner and even painted the area where the litter boxes where. When you are so far from home and have no control over what is happening with your home and pets Rod really stepped up, and truly went out of his way to fix a terrible mess. Best sitter ever. This is the second time Rod has taken care of our dog and cat. He is awesome and our pets love him. His communication is great and we have complete piece of mind when he’s with our animals
Rod is an excellent housesitter, and so good with animals. Our dogs are borderline special needs, and we could see they had been beautifully cared for. Rod was quick to communicate with us, and sent photos/videos of everyone. He even took care of my daughter's kitty who was temporarily staying with us and who had to be in a separate area of the house, away from our dogs. Rod would take his coffee breaks with her throughout the day, and made sure she was well cared for.

Rod is the best pet sitter we have ever had and we have had quite a few! He was wonderful with our 2 cats. They warmed right up to him. He kept in touch regularly. He sent cute videos and pictures.
He has a great personality. Felt like we have known him for years.

Feels like family having Roderick housesit and pet sit. We had such an amazing experience with him during our first pet sitting in November that we had to have him again for our February trip. Now it feels like he is part of our family. Our dog peanut actually whimpered at the window when he him leave. He is a caring , thoughtful and considerate sitter. This was our first experience with a house/pet sitter and it was absolutely incredible. Rod’s communication was timely and ongoing. He was in regular contact during our time away. Our animals and plants and house were extremely well cared for! This was an awesome experience and Rod was great! We could NOT be happier (our pets were super happy as well!)
Roderick was and is everything you are looking in both a house sitter and pet sitter. This was our first time on House Sitters Canada and we are so incredibly happy we found Roderick . He took the utmost care of both our home and our dog. Communication was great. He even made us dinner upon our return back home.
