Hi, we are a retired couple from New Zealand, a police officer and school teacher. We are fit, healthy, non-smokers who have owned and looked after dogs and cats most of our lives. We take genuine pleasure in caring for pets as if they were our own. To ensure you feel connected and reassured while you’re away, we like to keep you informed with updates and photos of your pets.
We genuinely enjoy spending time with pets, helping them feel loved and secure. We’re flexible and happy to adapt to any specific instructions or routines you have, whether it’s walks, play, medication, or special care instructions.
As retirees, we have the time to fully commit to your home and pets and our references and background checks will, hopefully, assure you of our reliability and trustworthiness. We have owned several homes ourselves, so we understand the respect and responsibilities associated with living in someone’s home.
We’ve completed many enjoyable pet-sits in New Zealand, Ireland, the UK, and Canada. Notably, we spent three months pet-sitting through an Ottawa winter and are keen to return to Canada. We like to think you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind, knowing your home and pets are in loving and experienced hands. Prior to a sit, we like to book into a motel a day or two early. This allows us to meet the owners and pets to discuss anything necessary for the sit.

Met Tom & Julie prior to the house/pet sit & felt very comfortable leaving Casey in their hands. House was lovely & tidy when we got home & Casey was very happy & relaxed. Would definitely have Tom & Julie again.

Percy (cat) was well cared for and got lots of cuddles . The house was spotless on our return. We had a relaxing time away knowing Percy was well cared for. We would love to have Tom and Julie come sit again.
I had a phone conversation with Tom and Julie prior to the house sit. They were keen to come and meet my pets before they started the sit, so they were familiar with the dogs.
My pets were at ease with them and really happy right from the start, even my very shy cat! It was great to get pics of the cat being petted by both Tom and Julie.

House/pet sitters who become friends is I'm sure the best recommendation that can be given. Tom and Julie are first class and very nice people to boot they looked after Kasper and the Chooks as though they were their own and the house was immaculate. We not only want to have them stay again but to meet up when they are back this way or us near them.
Although the time frame states 3 weeks it was for seven weeks.
Right from the very first email, Tom and Julie were just wonderful. They replied straight away and subsequent communication was always prompt. As they lived close by, we were able to meet them prior to the sit and walk the dogs together. I knew straight away the animals were in safe, competent, caring hands! A big thanks to Tom and Julie who took great care of our home and cats whilst we were away. Our cats were super happy when we came home and the house was lovely and clean. Our shy cat even sat on their laps and accepted cuddles, which is practically unheard of! We wouldn't hesitate to invite Tom and Julie to house sit for us again in future.
Tom and Julie looked after our house and our little dog Bonnie for over two weeks whilst we were away on holiday. They were great at keeping in touch with regular updates on how they and Bonnie were getting on. When we got home after our holiday our house was fantastically clean and Bonnie had obviously enjoyed herself. We would not hesitate to recommend Julie and Tom and hopefully they will house sit for us again in the future.
