We're a kind-hearted, energetic, outgoing, retired professional couple who want to make your time away worry free and relaxing.
You'll find that we're easy-going, very clean, great communicators who like to laugh. We’re happy in a rural village, suburb or city. We love them all
because they all have something interesting about them. We enjoy nature and like to excercise by hiking, biking, or walking.
If your pet needs lots of cuddles, has dietary or medical needs or needs long walks for their well-being, we're up for that. If you want regular updates on how your pet is doing we're good at that.
We are homeowners too! So we know how to trouble shoot when unexpected situations arise. We're great at looking after yards, pools, gardens and plants. Above all we consider ourselves sensible and reliable. We spend several months a year in Australia to escape the Canadian winter and catch up with family and friends. Dave is an Aussie and April is a Canadian.
A little outline of our experience with animals.
Dogs - April’s family always had dogs. Labradors, hound dog/doberman cross and a Corgi.. Past pet-sits are too many to list now but include French bulldogs, Cavalier’’s, labs, mastiff, Boston terrier, schnauzer’s
Small pets - experience caring Guinea pigs and hamsters
Fish - Both indoor and outdoor fish, feeding and tank cleaning.
Cats - We both grew up with cats and raising kittens so know what they need and, more importantly, when they need to be left to their own devices!
Farm work - April grew up with cows and chickens (yup she’s milked cows and cleaned coups). She also have more limited experience with horses as she helped a friend care for her horse.
Reptiles - Our kids had a bearded dragon and we kept garter snakes for awhile. No problem looking after them.
Birds - Limited experience. We love birds though and April used to help her grandmother look after her budgie.
April and Dave were absolutely brilliant. We had regular updates throughout our trip and we returned to three very happy and relaxed pets, a sparkling clean home and the garden looking even better than before we left! Not sure what magic they worked but Bodhi the dog is calmer too. Truly remarkable! We would whole heartedly recommend them and would love to have them sit for us again.
April and Dave were wonderful house sitters. Very easy to communicate with. We were able to get in touch prior to the stay via video call and then again when they arrived in Australia. They kept the place clean and more importantly sent me lots of photos of Winnie while I was away. It was a real comfort knowing my cat and my apartment were in good hands :) will definitely be in touch for my next holiday!
April and Dave are highly professional and experienced house sitters. They were
thorough in reviewing and understanding our home and pet sitting needs. No detail was missed and we felt confident having them in our home. Communication was excellent and they were very easy to trust.
