"Theory misses Ryan so much that he's hanging his head over the edge of the bed, sighing heavily. We're waiting for him to either run away to find Ryan, or compose poetry. Most people love Abstract best, and it's rare for Theory to find a person, but Ryan is clearly his person. At every single step of this -- and it's our first sit so we were nervy and forgetful and over the top -- Ryan was calm, easy, and I hope will become a friend."

"His calm character, willingness and capabilities were a godsend to me, making me feel at constant ease at an extremely difficult time. Further issues arose at my property during his time there but Ryan always took charge & just rolled with it, often saying to me 'that’s what I’m here for'. I am so thankful for this."

In late 2014, I quit my job with a digital marketing agency in Canada and moved to Costa Rica to focus on a number of personal projects, including an online magazine I had been independently publishing since 2007. Since that time, I've continued to work remotely and I am currently the Community Manager for a US startup called Snorble.
In mid-2015, I started house sitting in British Columbia, Canada, and I've been doing it ever since. Over the years, I've completed dozens and dozens of sits around the world, and met countless furry and human friends along the way.
Prior to the start of the pandemic, I even wrote a book to share my experience with those thinking of starting to house sit, and I hope to one day write another to further encourage others to consider this wonderful opportunity to care for animals.
Now, with the intent to stay in Toronto long-term with my partner, Rachel, I'm excited to explore the neighbourhoods this city has to offer while also meeting even more furry and non-furry friends.
