We are mid 40s professionals with a home base in North Vancouver and an affinity for Central Vancouver Island, Kelowna, and Sunshine Coast. We love spending time in nature, hiking, cycling and going on long neighbourhood walks. We are your sitters if you are looking for ongoing updates about your home and animals, so you know everything is going smoothly in your absence. We have a clean, healthy lifestyle and excellent references as well as jobs that require us to have police background checks.

EXPERIENCE:
We are experienced House and Petsitters with 25 x 5-star reviews. We take the job seriously. We really try to uphold the wishes of the petowners -- we don't mind if you have a big list of instructions or are particular in how you like your home maintained, appliances used, spaces cleaned etc. We aim to earn your trust.

- We have both owned dogs and cats for our whole lives

-We were both swimming pool cleaners during our early 20s and are familiar with balancing chemicals for pools and hot tubs.

- We are very physically fit and capable of performing reasonable chores/maintenance

- Jason is a building envelope and waterproofing expert. He is skilled in assessing homes for possible ventilation or moisture-related hazards. He is your guy to spot leaks and notify you of any unexpected issues in your home

- Mindy is trained in indoor tropical plant care but is happy to help maintain any outdoor gardens too.

-We both have experience caring for plant, flower and vegetable gardens.

- We are very security and liability conscious and savvy to preventing theft, break-ins, damage to property etc. Complacency just isn't in our blood.

- We both have remote careers (Jason would have to travel a few times during longer housesitting stays) thus we can offer a LOT of time spent with your pets. Mindy works M-F from a laptop and her employer is flexible to allow for any emergency time off. If anything happened and your pet had to go to the vet or needed some extra care this would not be held up because of work commitments. The pet would become top priority that day.

WHY DID WE CHOOSE TO BECOME DIGITAL NOMADS & HOUSESITTERS?

We made the decision to rent out our condo in North Vancouver as we plan to move to Vancouver Island, or possibly the Okanagan, in 2025. We miss our own cats dearly (they were seniors and passed away a couple of years ago) and we have some new-found flexibility with our employment so housesitting feels like a no-brainer. We considered becoming professional petsitters for extra income but honestly the housing exchange is generous enough. Overall it feels good to be able to offer peace of mind to pet and home owners. We are the sitters who will leave homes better than we found them and will treat the pets like our children.
