Hi! And thank you for your consideration!
I have owned and cared for all sizes and breeds of dog for most of my life. I am experienced in handling and caring for dogs with all sorts of behavioural issues and personalities. I have worked as an professional dog and house-sitter for the last 5 years on Rover.... where I have only 5-star reviews. :) Prior to that, I have also worked in a doggy day-care and have cared for up to 15 dogs at a time. I have also completed a pet first aid course, and am comfortable giving most kinds of meds. Lastly, I am in year one of a two year vet tech program, which I do mainly online, with a few weeks a year on campus.
And I don't just love dogs! I have owned and cared for many cats, hamsters, birds and fish along the way as well. Occasionally, I even branch out from companion animals and do a bit of farm-sitting for my sister on her hobby farm, where I'll spend some days caring for her horses, cows, pigs, goats, dogs, cats and gazillion chickens.
I am also very tidy and quiet. I don't drink, smoke or murder people.
I work remotely full-time, so that means I will need reliable wifi, however that also means that I am available to hang out with pets and take walk/bathroom breaks throughout the day. I have a flexible work schedule.
For longer stays, I prefer to bring my child (10-lbs, 14-year-old miniature pinscher named Paisa) with me on sits. She is extremely well-behaved and friendly with all people and all kinds of animals.
A little more about me: I am an avid traveler and adventure-junky. I have backpacked through over 40 countries, and I like to spend a good chunk of my summer out camping, hiking and trekking. Most recently, I spent 2.5 months last winter in Colombia and went for multi-day treks in the Colombian jungle (4 days to find the Lost City), and in the Colombia Andes (4 days to climb a 5300 meter volcano with a glacier at the top!).
