70, Retired
**I am CURRENTLY HOUSE SITTING sitting in Courtenay, B.C. This sit ends on August 11. **
After that date, I am available to sit in the Edmonton, Red Deer and Calgary region until it starts to get cold, OR to stay on Vancouver Island. I wish to spend the entire winter on Vancouver Island to escape the blizzards of Alberta. Please tell everyone you know about my FREE services.
They must be urban sits that are a minimum of one month in length, and preferably many months in length. I require high speed WiFi Internet. I prefer your home to be within walking distance of amenities. If it is not, then your home must be near a bus stop or you must be willing to loan me your vehicle so that I can get to amenities.
My home is in Alberta. I started house and pet sitting in 2018 after I retired. I am currently on my ninth sit. It is the best retirement plan ever!
I am very quiet, mature, and responsible, and I will treat your home as if it were my own. My references can attest to that! My first two references (2018 & 2019) mention my son Kevin as we did those house sits together. After that, I felt experienced enough to branch out on my own. I have been a solo sitter since 2022.
I am a non-smoker, a non-drinker, and I don't do drugs.
I will take care of your pets, including cats, quiet, well-trained dogs, and guinea pigs. While you are away, I will also collect the mail, water your house plants, put out the trash, and generally keep an eye on things. My presence will keep your home looking occupied, which keeps your home insurance company happy. Your pet will be happier staying at home, and I will save you kennel fees.
I have received training in how to inject insulin into diabetic cats and dogs.
Since I am elderly (70), someone else needs to cut the grass and shovel the snow from the driveway. Hopefully, a neighbour or a professional can be hired (I will pay for this to be done during my stay, if necessary). I don't have any mobility problems. I can climb stairs and light housework is fine.
I grew up the child of a Diplomat who was transferred from country to country every few years. Then, I joined the military (as a typist) and married a military man. We were transferred from province to province every few years. I love new things, new places, and new experiences. Moving from place to place keeps life exciting! That is why I enjoy house and pet-sitting so much.
I love going for long walks every day, weather permitting. My hobbies include reading, genealogical research, and gardening.
If you think we'd be a good fit, I'd love to hear from you!
Please Note: The cats and dogs in my profile photos are not mine. They are from the house and pet sits that I have done.
Please Note: Not all of my references and referrals are listed here, as I use different house-sitting websites. All are available upon request.
