over 50, 30+ yrs Law Clerk - early retired

I retired early after many years in the legal field (Civil, Family, Estate Law, and other aspects) both in Ontario and in British Columbia with Legal Aid. Sold my house in June 2022 and want to explore the world now that my children are grown. I have been on pet/house sitting assignments full-time (85%) since July 2022 in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, locations in the United States, and Australia - little dogs, big dogs, senior dogs, cats etc.. I also cared for a deaf dog for 4 months which required a certain awareness and communication with her.
I am very outdoorsy, love hiking and cycling, having backpacked/camped solo - went backpacking in Ecuador, travelled across Canada both ways - with the exception of Newfoundland (on the bucket list!).
One of my passions is gardening. I enjoy the spring surprises as life begins in the garden whether it be flowers or food to enjoy at the table.
We have always had animals in the house whether as a kid growing up or in my married family life and have been very fortunate that our animals have always had a 'good and long life" and enjoyed their friendship and snuggles. - exercising with daily walks - come rain or shine!
While pet sitting, I like to always stay in touch with the owners, sending photos and videos or direct messages ensuring them their pets are happy and well cared for, and their home is secure.

Rosemary took great care of our home & two kitties. She regularly sent us photos of lap time & play time, so we could relax on our overseas holiday. She communicated her departure plans clearly and left our home clean, with the cats well-fed for our late night return. There were a couple of inconveniences for Rosemary related to our rental property & she worked with our landlady (as advised) to resolve. We were very pleased with how well Rosemary looked after our home and elderly cat for an entire month! Communication was excellent despite a 6-7 hour time difference. She sent us images of of our house, flowers, cat etc and always sought permission to use recreational equipment or have family members over for a visit. She even weathered a bad storm. Rosemary is amazing. Our dog is missing her! She took him for many walks and he slept on her bed. Rosemary sent us many videos and updates while we were away. The house was spotless when we returned. I cannot give Rosemary enough Stars for care of my fur babies and home. I left my home as clean as I could for her, and came home to an even cleaner home. Not only do I know how well cared for my dog and cats were, by their happy dispositions upon return, as well as her communications and videos and pictures while I was away, and her ability to help my dog maintain his composure when someone was at the door (I'll need lessons on this one!) Rosemary did a wonderful job looking after our kitty. We came home to find everything at the house in great shape and our senior cat very happy and content. I received lots of pictures of Jazzy while we were away. Having Rosemary look after Jazzy was a great experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her or to use her again.
