Pet sitting & House sitting job in Vancouver Coast & Mountains
Vancouver Coast & Mountains - Greater Vancouver
Tania
We are a couple in our early 40s living in beautiful Dunbar Heights Vancouver, walking distance to Pacific Spirit Park, Dunbar Community Centre, Dunbar village and public transit. We have a green cheek conure parrot, named Ginkgo who we need care for while we are away in Ireland for two weeks in Spring of 2025. Prefer someone who has experience with parrots, and can work from home or is retired, as they require more interaction, time out of the cage and attention than smaller pet birds. I am looking far In advance as it can take a while to find the right person for parrots.
Ideally if you could meet him in advance, we can put you up in my parents basement suite next door to us before we leave and give you an introduction and orientation.
Gingko is a sweet boy who likes cuddles with someone he trusts. If you are the patient sort and like birds, he will probably take a shine to you quickly. He likes playing with bells, doing tricks for treats and looking out the windows. He needs a few hours a day of out of cage time so if you like hanging out at home, working, reading or watching tv he will happily hang out with you. If the weather is warm enough we have a small cage to bring him outside into the garden or on our balcony.
Our garden may need a bit of watering depending on the weather. You would also be keeping an eye on my parents house across the courtyard (we are on the same property and will be traveling with them) our home is the one bedroom coach house behind them and is suitable for a single person or couple.
Our home is a small but cozy coach house with a good open plan design, blackout blinds, and nice balcony with trees surrounding us.
Please note the photo of the African animal skulls - if you are bothered by them I want to make sure you know about them. They were animals that passed away naturally on my grandmother’s friends farm in South Africa in the 1970s. Nothing sinister. I love animals and wanted to honor them and give them a place to display after my grandmother passed. I can take them down during your stay if needed.
