Hi there! My husband and I are planning a two night getaway with our out of town boys but without our horses, cat and doggo. It's a tough time to ask, our timing being the week of Xmas festivities, but why not treat yourself to a home away from home for a couple night getaway yourself! We live in Blewett, approx. 15 min. outside the city of Nelson on a 3 acre property. Our home is a big old farmhouse with a handful of updates. Safe and cozy. We are hoping to find a critter sitter who is experienced and very comfortable with R+ training with horses and dogs. Our dear dog Emmet is a five year old koolie who has suffered more than one attack by other dogs in his short life. This has left him quite fearful of other canines. So, keeping him in a world that feels safe to the best of our abilities is paramount. He love love loves humans! Our horses are a couple of old guys. Dan is 23 years. Drifter 22. They have been together all their days. We try to feed them three times daily. When life comes up, twice works too. They are barefoot boys with a sweet disposition. Drifter has a friend that comes over once a week depending on her schedule to brush and ride. They are tight. And she is lovely. Our cat Missy is indoor/outdoor. She is pretty low maintenance.
Pretty rustic here, and oh so beautiful! With luck we will have snow in three weeks time. If you are a skier, snowboarder or snowshoer, there is plenty to go around in our local ski hills and trails. Looking forward to hearing from you if you think you may be a good fit with us!
