We are a semi retired, active, professional couple who love our Canadian and US winter visits, and house sit opportunities that have allowed us to spend extended time getting to know places and people, and escape some of our Australian summers. We have had two, month-long house sits pre-Covid, one on Vancouver Island, and the other in Bend Oregon, and more recently, 2 week posts in London, England and in both Washougal and Seattle in Washington State. All of which are reviewed on Trusted House sitters, and we are happy to forward on request.
We have both had pets all our lives (dogs and cats mostly, and horses when I was young), and currently have a rescue dog called Lucy, who needs and receives lots of attention, and two young cats that we couldn't bear to return to the animal shelter after fostering their litters. For better or worse we treat them as family members, and so miss them when we are away. I lived in Alberta for a year, so I understand 'how things work' in Canada. While we are city people these days, I grew up in a rural community so we go camping often to get our fix of open spaces and country living. I am a keen gardener, and Paul is a worthy handy-man, and are proud of our home and garden. We also love to ski, so our ideal house sit is somewhere with a ski hill within an hour or two. We are flexible with dates, and can be away for about 2 months, Mid December through to mid March are our preferred months. Please see our ID checks, and references in Attachments.
