Semi-retired, holistic practitioner (reflexologist, reiki, cupping).
I'm currently living in Haliburton in a rental while I wait for my place to be built, currently dealing w permits then we start the build.
I'm an avid gardener and love being outside. I tend to do 2 or 3 walks a day 40-60min so your dogs walks can be tailored to their needs.
I drive, so if any vet appts or grooming is required I have that covered but that also means I require parking.
I am independently INSURED.
I do charge a fee depending on number of animals, length of stay and chores required - ie snow removal, gardening beyond basic water plants etc. Feel free to message and we can discuss how I can help your family enjoy the time away, knowing the rest of your family is being loved and cared for!

I'm incredibly grateful for Melanie. I have had to spend a significant time away from my home and 2 dogs (Cavachon & Rottweiler) on several occasions over the past year. My dogs adore Melanie. She has taken such great care of them, as well as my ducks and my home, Melanie is very communicative, I've never had to worry about my dog's wellbeing under her care. I highly recommend Melanie, and think she is incredibly kind, caring and responsible. I adore her!

Melanie is as good as could be hoped for. A mature and dependable housesitter who provided excellent care for our dog, while also looking after our home and swimming pool.

Melanie seemed very interested and committed to taking care of the dogs especially. She helped manage some barking behaviour. Neighbours were pleased about that. The house was kept tidy. She wasn’t able to tame the unfriendly cats unfortunately..

It was a pleasure taking care of the crew at Karen's. Such a quaint house in great neighbourhood along the Otonabee River lock system. Dogs and cats need to be kept separate. Communication was easy and Karen responded in a timely manner whenever I had a question about the house or the pets.
We are really happy we had Melanie housesitting for us. She gave us peace of mind while we were away for so long. She kept in touch daily, sending photos and updates on our dog. She even returned after her agreed departure time to walk him when we landed quite late. We returned to a clean house and a happy, healthy dog. We've had Melanie housesit for us twice over the last year. After meeting and working out what was required for our cats Darla & Manny we felt confident our home and pets would be in good hands. Darla is on medication & we require different food to be offered to each cat. Melanie was organized and followed the calendar carefully for medication. We had great confidence that our cat, our garden and our home were being very well cared for while we were away and Melanie was here. She kept us updated on a regular basis with how everything was going and how well she was connecting with our cat, Otie. Of course we were delighted she enjoyed being here and enjoyed the area a bit as well. We're happy to give her a top-notch review. What a great person she is.
