Greetings housesitters:

Hoping to find a cat lover to care for my home and my kitty while I'm away.

I live in a 2 bedroom 850 sq ft townhouse; It's simple but comfortable. The building has seven other units and it's essential that a quiet and respectful environment is maintained. The location is about 5 km from Nelson's town center - about a 20 min walk. Kootenay Lake is nearby as are a variety of hiking and biking trails. Whitewater ski hill is a 20 minute drive. If you're interested in exploring a car would likely be necessary.

Gaia the cat spends most of her time doing her own thing, but she likes play time and the occasional cuddle. She has a mild case of feline hyperesthesia which simply means she's sensitive to touch; while she enjoys a head scratch/pat she doesn't like to be touched on her low back area. And while she certainly knows how to relax she startles easily and appreciates a quiet, stress-free environment. She can also be a little fussy with her food and water (ie. only drinks from the bathroom faucet) so I need someone who will be patient with these idiosyncrasies. In the winter she spends most of her time indoors so scooping the litter daily is needed, although if it's warm enough she will go outside. While she's not so fond of toys she loves to be chased between spare room to the living room when she's feeling frisky!
